What did you notice this week?

I’m back at work this week and feeling that slightly jarring thud back to earth after an extraordinary three months away. I’m incredibly grateful to be returning to a busy calendar of client work and have dived right in. It got me thinking, though, that there might be something useful about this moment that would be easy to miss.

When you’ve been away, even briefly, you come back with fresh eyes. You notice things you’d stopped seeing. After three months away, that’s even sharper... what lights you up and what doesn’t, things you spend time on that add value and things that just don’t, ideas that have been circling in your (ok, my) mind for months without landing.

When you’re in it all the time, those things just become “how it is”. Step out, come back, and lo - they stand out again. The patterns become much clearer and then, usually, we do… nothing with that.

We pick up the old patterns and, scarily quickly, stop noticing all that useful data.

So it’s worth catching it while it’s still in focus... what did you notice this week that everyone else, or the usual you, seems to accept?

Until next week,

Madeleine
