Don't Sweat It: Why You're Allowed to Skip a Weekly Blog Post

A six-egg carton containing only 5 eggs

I'm going to level with you right now - this week, I'm not going to write my weekly blog post.

My team and I aren't in full health... so we are resting up.

A lot of us (myself included) can sometimes think that people are looking at our every move, judging us on everything we do. But no one is noticing you as much as you think they are. Most people won't notice you skipped your weekly post [/insert own commitment here] because they have their own lives too; most people don’t care whether or not you did a thing today.

What matters is how you show up over the long term - and for that you need to take care of your own health and wellbeing.

In my case, a slip on wet tiles and a bang on the head has left me with a concussion that means I can work for an hour or so then need to rest for quite a bit (I’ve had it all checked out and it’s fine, just a few weeks needed for it to pass) and in my lovely offsider’s case, it’s a nasty flu.

While we recuperate, we're paring back for a couple of weeks.

What about you? There's been so much ill health about lately. Did you take some time off and realise the world kept turning? Or have you tried to soldier on? Something in between?

See you next week,

Madeleine

[NARRATOR: Reader, she knew this was, in fact, a blog post.]
